A Veteran stands during an unveiling ceremony for the Mojave Cross on Veterans Day in Cima, California on Sunday, November 11, 2012. A battle has been brewing for over Thirteen years over whether the cross can legally stay on Sunrise Rock because it violates Separation of Church and State and is in the Mojave National Perserve which is on Federal Lands. The Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Society raised money to purchase the plot of land and has kept the cross in place and today serves as war memorial.
